Grooming class By The Traders Hotel

On 15th March 2013, Ms. Anna Yoon, a Representative from Traders Hotel and her HR team came to LH Bright Sparks, Penang Road and gave a grooming class to the children. There were about 50 children participated in the training.

The children were taught how to take care of themselves and their personal hygiene. It was indeed a very good, educational and informative training given by The Traders Hotel. The children had so much fun in the training. Even though the electricity was down but that never stop the children's spirit in learning. There were  lots of joyful interaction between the children, the trainers and the caregivers.

The program ended with a delicious snack sponsored by The Traders Hotel. Some of the kids said that they are happy today because they have learned, something important called "personal hygiene".

What is grooming and personal hygiene... and why is it important?

Ok, let's have some fun and games now...
Wow...look at that!...Opps.. be careful with the biscuits, girl!

Good Manners & Character Building

18th February 2013 was a date to remember as it was the opening of LH Bright Sparks at the new place!  On that day, Mr. Johann Paul Gregory from the Life Training Consultancy came and gave a motivational talk to the Bright Sparks children to kick start the year with new hopes and dreams!

36 children attended the talk. Some were from St. Joseph's Home, Crystal Family Home, House of Hope, Children Protection Society and individual families. The event started at 3.00 pm with a short ice-breaker by the Bright Sparks Care Coordinator - Ms. Margaret Yoong. Then the children were given a word search. The fastest children who completed the word search received a prize.

Mr. Johann Gregory gave a very good, creative, fun-filled and enthusiastic session on good manners, character-building, responsibility, ownership and self-discipline. There were good interactions between Johann and the children. The children had an enjoyable and exciting learning time with him. It was truly a great and enlightening day for the children and the speaker!

The program then ended at 4.30 pm with goodies being given to all the children and a special tea snack treat by one of our volunteer - Ms. Erina & family.
